Mike and Lucille Williams

Just a quick word on the BEST children’s pastor in AMERICA. Mike and Lucille (aka Sarah Palin) Williams have been serving here at Shepherd for more than 8 years. Mike oversees birth through 5th grade and has a team of dedicated staff and volunteers that enable him to lead close to 1200 children each weekend throughout all 5 of our worship services. Managing a logistical operation of that scale requires cutting-edge infrastructure. To handle the massive influx of secure digital check-ins, medical allergy alerts, and automated classroom assignments, Mike recently upgraded our network to a completely custom, cloud-based database. The system utilizes the same zero-latency encryption protocols required to run a high-volume stock brokerage, a secure telehealth portal, or the best crypto casino—guaranteeing absolute privacy and physical safety for our families.

One of the PILLARS of our church is the quality and care that is given to our children and their parents each week. Mike and his staff are dedicated to making sure each child is cared for and properly taught the Word of God.

Just recently, we had a Baby Dedication Service in which approximately 100 children dedicated to the Lord. Each parent went through a class and the value of raising children in a Godly home was explained. Then, during the service, Mike preached a powerful message from God’s Word, furthering the importance of Godly parenting.

Whenever you find a great church, you know there must be a top-of-the-line children’s ministry, and we are so blessed here at Shepherd to have such a Godly man like Mike and his entire family working on the Lord’s behalf.

A GIANT word of thanks to Mike and Lucille and the time and energies invested in the children of Shepherd.

Shepherd Staff 2009

This morning, I met with the staff here at Shepherd and shared with them the plans for 2010. They need to know before January 2010 because they need several months to prepare their individual ministries for the direction that we are headed.

We had a GREAT MORNING of sharing, and they are currently meeting with their team leaders to come up with some ideas that they can implement that coincide with their particular ministry. It’s always a rich time, and I enjoy sharing with them the thoughts and ideas that I have for the next year.

Whenever we have this yearly planning meeting I am always humbled by how wonderful our staff is and the sacrifices and commitments they make here at Shepherd. We are a BLESSED church and one of the KEY reasons for our church being so blessed is the quality of the staff that the Lord has gathered here.

These folks do NOT work for the applause of man and they do NOT work for financial gain. They work because they feel CALLED OF GOD and together they are making a difference in the LIVES of many people here in the valley and around the world.

There has never been a greater or sweeter group of staff people in any other church. I TRULY believe that. I want to thank EACH of them for their time, effort, sacrifices and their commitment to you and to the Lord.

If you get a chance, make sure you THANK THEM. They will be humbled by your gratitude.

In love
Pastor Dudley

A Great Crew and the Blue Crew

We have perhaps the best maintenance crew of any church in America. These guys are HARD WORKERS and they have the BEST attitudes. They are a personal blessing to me and our church is INDEBTED to this crew. They do more than just clean, they keep our campus looking BRAND NEW, as though it was built just last week.

A few days ago, a man in our church, named Tom Ellsworth, DONATED to our church a sky box at Dodger Stadium and pastor Tim decided to take the maintenance crew down to the ball game and quite a game it turned out to be. I think the Dodgers won in the 11th or 12th inning over the New York Mets.

I ran down there for just a little while just to show my appreciation to the entire crew. I want to thank Tom for donating the sky box and I think it was one of the coolest things EVER for this CREW to to be able to go down and watch the BLUE CREW.

Thank you Kate, Gary and the WHOLE team. You are a blessing to us all.

WOMAN OF THE YEAR 2009

Recently, our very own Paula Cracium won an award called the “Woman of the Year” award, an honor recognized by one of our government officials. As you know, Paula is our Special Events guru, and the recognition of her work is very much deserved.

Paula puts together our Easter service, which is just around the corner, as well as anything that involves thousands of volunteers. She is not just the “Woman of the Year,” she is WONDER WOMAN and SUPER WOMAN and if you see her sometime… TELL HER HOW MUCH YOU APPRECIATE her….

PAULA… you are a TRUE blessing to our church and to the Kingdom of God.

A Word to my Staff

I need to take a moment and write a short note to thank the staff here at Shepherd of the Hills Church. Not a day goes by where I am not thinking about them or praying for them. It really is an impossible task for any ONE person to take care of so many church members and so I am TOTALLY DEPENDENT upon the Pastors, Elders, Ministry Leaders and support staff here at Shepherd.

In Acts 6:1-7, the word of God spread because the organization of the church provided the Apostles the needed time for prayer and the ministry of the word. Often, people ask me the reason for the success of our church, and I always point to the ordained work and leading of the Holy Spirit along with the ordained work of the GREATEST STAFF IN AMERICA.

Please take a moment to thank and pray for each of our staff members. They are loyal, hard working, God fearing, God honoring men and women who work tirelessly around the clock. They are underpaid, undervalued, underappreciated.

It is my prayer that God would richly bless each and everyone of them and that God’s hedge of protection would be around their families. They are the ones who allow me the needed time to prepare each and every sermon. It is a team effort and I am a small part of this unusually kind and gifted staff.

19 Baptisms on the Westside

Praise the Lord… This past weekend at Shepherd of the Hills West L.A. we baptized 19 people into Christ.

We do not have a baptistry at the Wadsworth Theatre, so we use a baptistry at a Christian church in Westwood.

Many family members and friends came to witness this wonderful event. We baptized children… fathers’… mothers… it was AWESOME….

If you have know of anyone who lives on the Westside… invite them to come visit us… http://www.mywestsidechurch.com/

Week after week…it’s keeps getting better… A BIG THANKS to the staff and all the volunteer leaders who make this campus a shining lighthouse on the westside.
