I just had to write and say thank you for hosting the services live over the internet. My wife Katie and I, who are members at the church there, decided to come out to Paris this year for Christmas, just the two of us. It’s been beautiful, romantic, and COLD here! But if there’s one thing we really miss this Christmas, it’s being around our family of believers and enjoying the traditional Christmas services.

Well, last night I was suffering some effects of “jet-lag” and started to think about home. I looked at my hometown’s newspaper site to see what was going on for Christmas, then I thought I’d take a look at my home church and see what was going on. I saw that I could stream live services, so I went ahead and clicked on it and I couldn’t believe what I saw! Katie’s uncle Larry singing a Christmas song in front of the church! Live! It was the 7:00pm service there (yes, it was 4:00am here!) I watched a little bit, and then realized that the 11:00pm service would be at 8:00am here. So I forced myself back to sleep and then woke up my wife and I early to watch the whole service at 8.

Wow, what a blessing for both of us. It really was the best way to start our Christmas day in Paris and made us feel close to home even while way over here across the Atlantic. So I wanted to again just say thank you to the team of people that work on this website and make it possible for people all over to access Shepherd of the Hills.

NEW SERMON BINDERS!

You may or may not know this, but for the past 12 months, I have had a new executive assistant named Angie Merrill and an administrative assistant by the name of Carla Keefrider. Both of these ladies have helped my life in so many areas. They are responsible for organizing the many tasks and responsibilities that come my way daily. One of the areas that they have organized is the CallOnJesus.com ministry. Thus, we have a new website design, new products available, and soon, we will offer DVD copies of our sermons.

The latest idea that Angie and Carla have come up with is to provide a binder that holds all your sermon notes. Each week when you come to church and take notes, you can now go home and place your notes in your binder. All of the sermon notes have been three hole punched beforehand for easy organization into these new binders. We are planning to have the cover artwork for the binders coincide with the theme each year. This is a wonderful way to keep track of your sermon notes throughout the years.

These binders are available for $6.00 each at the CallOnJesus.com Counter and Praises Book Store in both a men’s version and a women’s version. I also want to thank Roxanne Smith, Kari Macer, Bill Bayne, Lori Bird, Mike Millet, Dru Morgan, Jerry Miner, Amy Barnes, Alex Radilaleh, and Sharon Canchola, who have been instrumental in doing a lot of the behind the scenes work for CallOnJesus.com

This ministry continues to grow, and I know that God has BIG plans for this ministry to reach a lot of people for Jesus. I want to thank all the volunteers who graciously man the CallOnJesus.com Counter week after week. We couldn’t carry on without the volunteers. 🙂

Just wanted to let you know that we now have Callonjesus.com T-shirts available. We have been working on this for some time, and we finally came up with a design we like. These shirts can be purchased starting THIS WEEKEND at the Callonjesus.com desk (just north of the sanctuary lobby)!!!
Our idea was for people to wear these shirts for the purpose of helping others to find Jesus. There are so many resources available on that website, and we believe that it’s a wonderful opportunity to lead people in that direction. It’s our prayer that many people will actually “CALL OUT” to Jesus.

I totally understand that MOST of you read through Romancing Royalty during 2006, but for those of you who didn’t, I want to encourage you to read through it during 2007. This book contains 365 powerful devotions that will draw the reader closer to King Jesus. With over 100 guest authors, this is one of the best devotional books you can find. I am convinced that this tool will help you in your spiritual development. For those of you who completed it during 2006, why don’t you post your comments on what it meant for your spiritual journey? And again, for those of you who did NOT read through it, it’s not too late to begin. We are still in the first week of 2007. Every devotion has a text, a story, a prayer, three study questions, and a place to journal. Why not start off the year on the right path?
