Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892

This past Sunday after church, a woman from the church showed me this quote from Charles Spurgeon, who was a famous preacher in the 1800’s. He was a powerful preacher, and this quote moved me when I heard it, so I wanted to share it with all of you.

Here it is…

If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. And if they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees, imploring them to stay. If hell must be filled, at least let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for.”

Wow, a moving picture of Christians doing everything within our power to reach the lost before they perish.

Again, why not share a comment on what YOU do to help reach the lost.

I will be preaching this weekend on “the most powerful witnessing tool.” Please come with your Bible and a friend.

How do you share your faith?

Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”

Matthew 9:37, 38

This week at church, I shared some creative ways to share your faith with others. Now, it’s your turn. Click on the comments link at the bottom of this post, and you can type in the creative ways you’ve used to share your faith. Then, next week, I might select two or three to share with the church.

What a Team!!!

I have been coaching Kerri’s middle school basketball team. It is comprised of 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls. They are a great bunch of kids. They all love to play and we are having a good season. I have not posted a picture of Kerri recently so I thought I’d post a few. Kerri doesn’t really like to play as much as my other two children but she runs up and down that court primarily because she knows I like it so much.
As her father, I’m a little torn because she does a pretty good job but I’m never sure if she really wants to be out there. It was interesting that when we begin stretching before practice that Kerri ( a 6th grader at Hillcrest Christian School) is always the first in line to LEAD the stretching. Usually and 8th grader would step up to lead but Kerri is always anxious to lead.
You see, I think she is anxious NOT because she LOVES the game of basketball… you can ask her… she doesn’t really enjoy it that much… but the reason she leads the stretching is because she is a LEADER. God placed that within her!! And God has placed different gifts within each of us… and when we use those gifts the Lord is glorified.
Not only is Kerri leading the stretching, she is always quick to say a prayer or lead a devotion. Yes, I am thankful that I get to hang out with her on the basketball court, but i’m most thankful that she has a heart for God.
We have a few games left…. I think we play L.A.B at Hillcrest Christian School on November 2nd at 3:15 pm. Come out and cheer us on if you’d like.

Tonight at the Wadsworth !!!

Sunday Night: Rapha and his wife

[In order to protect their identities, as they do ministry in dangerous parts of the world, I am unable to show their photo.]

Monday Night: Jeff Walling

Tuesday Night: Bishop Blake and his wife, May
Wednesday Night: Miles McPherson We have had a MIGHTY REVIVAL at Shepherd. The music and the preaching each night has been stirring. I have never been a part of a Revival where each night, so many people stepped forward during the invitation time. Each and every night, you could sense God moving, and the Spirit of God was upon our church. The weekend services with Matt Proctor could NOT have been better. Rapha had some amazing stories… Jeff Walling is a gifted communicator… Bishop Blake was powerful… and last night, Miles was incredible.

Tonight, though, is the final night of this year’s Revival, and it will be held at the Wadsworth Theatre, located on the Northwest corner of the 405 Freeway and Wilshire Blvd., at 7:00 pm SHARP… Please do your best to join us… We will be spending the night in worship and praise!!! Looking forward to seeing each of you there. Be in prayer and be PREPARED for what God has in store for us tonight.

Revival 2007

Are you READY for Revival????????????????? It is HERE!!! Starting this weekend and running through Thursday evening, it promises to be one of the highlights for our church this year. I have been praying so much that God would do a work in ME… That he would lead ME to be renewed and revived. For so long, the Church has been complacent, almost afraid of what God could do, if we truly gave our lives to Him.

Please be in prayer that God’s Spirit would move MIGHTILY, that God’s word would be preached FEARLESSLY, and that God’s people would repent and be revived COMPLETELY.

Are you excited? Are you prepared? Maranatha!!! This could be the year that the Lord returns…. Will you allow God to speak to your heart over the course of the next few days?

Do EVERYTHING within your power to be present each and every night. Don’t let anything or anyone keep you from hearing from God’s messengers. It is a week that will change your life… literally… FOREVER…
