Recall Notice

The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed “Subsequential Internal Non-Morality,” or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some other symptoms include:
1. Loss of direction
2. Foul vocal emissions
3. Amnesia of origin
4. Lack of peace and joy
5. Selfish or violent behavior
6. Depression or confusion in the mental Component
7. Fearfulness
8. Idolatry
9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this SIN defect. The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R. Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component. No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:

1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Patience
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness
8. Gentleness
9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E . (Believers’ Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes. WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility. Thank you for your attention! You may contact your maker any time by “kneemail.”

What a Start!

Today we kicked off our ABC’s of Financial Success series, and the spirit of the congregation was amazing. You can just sense God getting ready to transform lives and lifestyles. There is NO question that the God we serve owns the “cattle on a thousand hills” and He will bless those who honor HIM.

Join that Life Group. Get involved. Trust God with the first fruits of all your crops. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse of God. Give and it will be GIVEN to YOU. Our attitude is crucial in understanding that everything we own comes from God to begin with, and we need to trust in HIM and in HIS WORD.

I’m looking forward to all the services today. I will have a story to post about what happened last night in church, but I want to wait until tomorrow to post that.

Please know that I love you… but Jesus loves you even more!

NEW SERMON BINDERS!

You may or may not know this, but for the past 12 months, I have had a new executive assistant named Angie Merrill and an administrative assistant by the name of Carla Keefrider. Both of these ladies have helped my life in so many areas. They are responsible for organizing the many tasks and responsibilities that come my way daily. One of the areas that they have organized is the CallOnJesus.com ministry. Thus, we have a new website design, new products available, and soon, we will offer DVD copies of our sermons.

The latest idea that Angie and Carla have come up with is to provide a binder that holds all your sermon notes. Each week when you come to church and take notes, you can now go home and place your notes in your binder. All of the sermon notes have been three hole punched beforehand for easy organization into these new binders. We are planning to have the cover artwork for the binders coincide with the theme each year. This is a wonderful way to keep track of your sermon notes throughout the years.

These binders are available for $6.00 each at the CallOnJesus.com Counter and Praises Book Store in both a men’s version and a women’s version. I also want to thank Roxanne Smith, Kari Macer, Bill Bayne, Lori Bird, Mike Millet, Dru Morgan, Jerry Miner, Amy Barnes, Alex Radilaleh, and Sharon Canchola, who have been instrumental in doing a lot of the behind the scenes work for CallOnJesus.com

This ministry continues to grow, and I know that God has BIG plans for this ministry to reach a lot of people for Jesus. I want to thank all the volunteers who graciously man the CallOnJesus.com Counter week after week. We couldn’t carry on without the volunteers. 🙂

Moses

Here is an amazing story…

When Moses and the Israelites were in the desert, how were they going to be fed?
They had to be fed, and feeding 2 or 3 million people requires a lot of food.

According to the Quartermaster General in the Army, it is reported that Moses would have to have had 1500 tons of food each day. Did you know that to bring that much food each day, two freight trains, each at least a mile long, would be required?!

Besides, you must remember, they were out in the desert, so they would have to have firewood to use in cooking the food. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains, each a mile long, just for one day.

And just think, they were forty years in transit.

And oh yes! They would have to have water. If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take 11,000,000 gallons each day and a freight train with tank cars, 1800 miles long, just to bring water!

And then another thing!

They had to get across the Red Sea at night. Now, if they went on a narrow path, double file, the line would be 800 miles long and would require 35 days and nights to get through. So there had to be a space in the Red Sea, 3 miles wide so that they could walk 5000 abreast to get over in one night.

But then, there is another problem… each time they camped at the end of the day, a campground two-thirds the size of the state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square miles long… think of it! This much space for camping!

Do you think Moses figured all this out before he left Egypt? I think not!

You see, Moses believed in God. God took care of these things for him.

Now do you think God has any problem taking care of all your needs?

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today.
To guide you and protect you as you go along your way.
His love is always with you, His promises are true,
And when we give Him all our cares, He will see us through.

Our God is an Awesome God!!

So when the road you’re traveling on seems difficult at best, just remember I’m praying for you, and God will do the rest.

Letter of the Month

January 11, 2007

Dear Dudley,

I had my Life Group meeting yesterday, and one of our guys came in so excited to tell us what happened to his friend earlier in the week. I will try to not make this long but it’s a great story. Hi name is Rich, and he is new to the whole Life Group thing. He absolutely loves it and tells us that all his friends notice a difference in him.

Rich has a friend named Rhonda who goes to another church but he has started giving her CD’s of your sermons. She found out that she had to go and have a biopsy and she was really nervous and scared. Rich gave her some more CDs to listen to. She decided to bring one and play it on her portable CD player while going through the procedure. Rhonda was on the table and the doctors were going to begin the procedure. Rhonda started to put her earplugs in and they asked her, “What are you going to listen to?” She said “A sermon that my friend gave me.” Then the doctor said, “Well give it to me and we will play it out loud,” so she did.

The procedure went fine and after it was done the doctors and nurses wanted to know what church the sermon was from and who was speaking. She told them, “Shepherd of the Hills Church and it’s Dudley Rutherford.” They really enjoyed it and told her they were going to check out the church. This was done at Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City.

I thought it was a very cool story and I hope you enjoy it,
Melody

Oasis, The Super Bowl and Dr. Scott Bauer

My dad was preaching this morning, and I attended a church in Hollywood called Oasis. The minister, Philip Wagner, has built a dynamic church that is truly impacting L.A. and our world. God is using this church to be a light in an area that is in desperate need of salvation. Philip, may God continue to bless you, your life, and your ministry.

Before church, I went to the cemetery to visit the grave of my dear friend, Dr. Scott Bauer. Scott was the Sr. Pastor of Church on the Way until the Lord called him heavenward a few years ago.
I spent about an hour there, cleaned his marker, and sat down and wrote him a letter. Today is Super Bowl Sunday, but in my heart, as I sat there and cried, missing my co-laborer in Jesus Christ, the game was irrelevant to me. You see, there is NO GAME as important as things of the eternal nature. I don’t think the Lord minds if we attend a few games here and there, as long as they do not become an idol to us.

This morning, as I was praying and looking across the vast cemetery, it was such a vivid reminder that all of us will one day pass from this life into the next. We need to live every day seeking to please God in every way, and the things that truly matter are the things that are eternal.

I’m so thankful that Scott led his life in such a way that the eternal was a priority to him. He sought to instill those values into everyone he came in contact with.

Scott, thank you, my friend, for reminding me in life and in death to serve Jesus with all of my heart.

I love you, my brother…
