Girls Rule again!!!!

Here is a picture of the team that I am coaching. Can you tell which one is my daughter???

Back Row: L to R Bretiel, Jessi, Kerri, Kendall, Taylor
Front Row: L to R Caroline, Jordan, Sierra

These girls have worked so hard and they are a total joy to be around. They love to laugh and they play as a team. If you have a chance, come see us play sometime.

We are called, “The Suns,” and we are playing during half time of the CSUN game this coming Sunday at 2:00 pm.

With the purchase of one ticket, anyone with a Shepherd of the Hills bulletin can get a second ticket free. I want to invite you to come and root for the Suns and the Matadors this Sunday.

I’ll C U There – 2:00 pm sharp at the Matadome.

The truth of the Matter

I kept wanting to write another post, but the truth of the matter is that I sooooooooooooooo
loved the Maranatha picture below that I didn’t want to write anything else.

The picture of the sky is so beautiful, and it fit so well with what we’ve been talking about the past few Sundays, but if I were to post articles thereafter, then that picture is no longer front and center.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…. What shall I do????????????????????????????

I think I might just keep posting that picture!!! Yes… that is an excellent idea!

I do hope everyone had a chance to reflect upon the life of Dr. Martin Luther King.

God changed a nation through the words and life of this great leader, and I believe that if he were alive today, he would LOVE our church because it’s a partial fulfillment of his Dream.
I say partial because we still have a long, long, long way to go, but I believe that our church is on the forefront as far as people from different races worshipping together in the name of Jesus.

Galatians 3:26 says, You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are ALL ONE in CHRIST JESUS“.

That says to me that we are all equal in the sight of God. With the diversity of Shepherd of the Hills Church, we are able to tell the world that it’s possible for people of all walks of life to come and worship together in Jesus’ name.

Way to go, church!! You make me proud!! Keep on letting that light of yours shine brightly!!

Maranatha!! (Our Lord comes)

MARANATHA !!!!

Maranatha!!! “Our Lord Comes”

What a weekend at Shepherd! The crowds, the spirit, the music, the message, the receptiveness. I want 2007 to be the year where we truly live our lives being ready and prepared for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Sit down and read Matthew 24 and 25 and you will understand the need for us to be prepared, as well as understand that there will be a day where we will give an account for how well we managed the things he placed in our care.

Don’t forget next weekend…

It promises to be life changing!

Hillcrest Eagles

Last night, I went to watch the Hillcrest Christian Varsity Boys and Girls teams play basketball against Santa Clarita Christian, and the Hillcrest Eagles looked good in both games. Both games were highly competitive and great sportsmanship ruled the night.

The girls won 44 – 30 and were led by Jackie Habashy with 18 points.
Other scorers included Leila Meimandi with 13 points, Espinoza with 5 points, Veloz with 6 points, and Wagner with 2 points.

The boys won 61 -52 and were led by “Big Country” Nick Huber’s game high 20 points, along with Billy Corcoran’s 11 points. Billy is a long time friend of my son, Dallas, and he did a good job running the point. Other scorers included Michael Dacey with 10 points, Fattal with 9 points, Cullen with 8 points, and Garcia with 3 points.

You can go to the Hillcrest Christian School link in the right hand column and find the game schedule, if you’d like to come watch a game sometime.

These student athletes are some of the best children in the valley.

Don’t forget that Sunday, January 21, at 2:00 PM will be Shepherd of the Hills day at Cal State University, Northridge . Blake Ewing will be singing the National Anthem, and I will be the honorary coach. With the purchase of any regular priced ticket, your Shepherd of the Hills bulletin will get you a second ticket for free.

At halftime, I will be coaching my 9 and 10 year old girls basketball team. It will be a lot of fun.

See you this weekend. Church is going to be GOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!

Blogger trying to blog…

I don’t know why, but for some reason we’ve had problems with the videos playing on my blog. We have some people working on that, but until we can get it fixed, please be patient with us.

It’s hard to believe how COLD it’s been outside. I actually wore a coat today… Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… It’s difficult to understand all the warnings of Global Warming when it’s FREEZING in L.A.

Attendance at church last weekend was HUGE. Everyone is back from their winter vacations and starting the year out with spiritual New Year’s resolutions. It makes the preacher happy when the church is full…. Just think how pleased the Lord must be. He actually died for the church, and He must enjoy it when we show our appreciation.

This weekend we will be handing out a book to everyone who is in attendance. Don’t miss out!!!!

Did you catch the last few sermons??? Christmas Eve… Jesus came!!! Last Sunday… Jesus is coming AGAIN??? Did you catch that????

More of the same this weekend…. Michael North will be back, and I think we’re going to be singing the “Days of Elijah.” Don’t you just love Michael North? If you haven’t heard his CD, you need to get to the bookstore ASAP.

I can hear all the preschool children outside my door right now. They don’t have a worry in the world. I wish I could be more like that.

Did you know that the father of one of our staff members passed away this morning? The staff that serves this church often goes through times where they themselves need to be ministered to. Please pray for your staff today.

Guess what???? I talked to Joshua Weaver via email this week, and he is going to let me give you an update on how he is doing. Joshua is a GREAT man of GOD who happens to be the number one Laker fan in L.A., and hopefully, I will post an entry with an update on how he is doing soon. Keep Joshua in your prayers. He is such a blessing.

The choir is singing at the Westside Campus this coming weekend for anyone who has thought about coming over to visit.

We are meeting in just a few minutes with the folks who are designing our new auditorium.

And… I believe with all of my heart that this coming year will be the year that we will be giving $1,000,000.00 to missions….. I’ve been praying about this for a long, long, long, long time. And I just have this feeling….. THANK YOU JESUS..

For those of you who missed last weekend, we are in the midst of planning to start four new churches in the next 12 to 18 months…. This would be miraculous in nature and speak VOLUMES to the heart and love for missions of our church family.

Well…. this blogger has to run……

Life Group this morning at 7:00 AM was OUT OF THIS WORLD….
